Happy Father's Day

To my Dad, who I failed to send a card, Happy Father's Day! I hope you have the greatest of days and enjoy every bit of it. I love you, Dad! Even though distance keeps us apart, you are always close to my heart. I think about you constantly and am always wondering what you're doing. As I get older more and more of the ideals you taught me as a child have emerged and become major elements of my life. They are the backbone of my ideology. You gave me the greatest childhood a boy could ask for. I never remember hard times. I only remember my childhood being happy and full of fun activities. You were my role model growing up and are still at the top of my pedestal. You taught me how to fire my first gun and were there with my first animal kills. We always were camping and outdoors and really had fun with life. Life may have separated us physically but you are still the one I look toward when times are rough. I may not call you or contact you but I always remember something that helps me get through it. You were my mystery man and I think that's one thing which made you such a hero to me. I was never really aware of what you did for a living as I was a child but it always fascinated me. You were that super soldier who went out on those top secret missions for the government to save our country. That's how I viewed you as a kid. Your firm discipline is what made me the responsible adult I have become. Our happy household is what helped my decision to have children and try and make their lives as happy as mine was.
