June is here! While the fire season may not have kicked off here in Humboldt county, everywhere else is pretty active. Our forest is almost depleted and down to drawdown numbers. All of this means its been majorly busy sending these crews, engines, and overhead resources to all parts of the country. We have people in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Alaska, Georgia, and Colorado. Picking up some more overtime days (like today) which is nice. Makes for shorter weekends but the extra money comes in handy 8) Running is still going strong, my form changing has been developing nicely and every run seems to get better and stronger. Almost all the initial aches and pains I was expecting from reading SO much have disappeared and am feeling most excellent. I have a local Six rivers Running Club run this Saturday called the Dow's Prairie Run 2m/6.1m. I am going to run the 6.1 miler. Its free, kickback, and should be fun, incorporating it...
I titled this post running because that seems to be the latest activity to spring forth in my life. I've always been a runner, and loved it. Most of my running has been shorter runs associated with some sport I was in. Never thought about running for distance until a friend turned me on to its wonderful powers of clearing the mind and soul. So gathering some long-lost self-motivation, I set out to run. My first few runs weren't what I was looking for. They felt good but my (hand-me-down) shoes needed replacement, my form was for short runs, I was more tired than I expected, and a little worried. I went to a Fleet-Feet in Sacramento and got custom fitted with some shoes, complete with fancy inserts. I ran my ass off after getting those shoes, logging almost 20 running miles in that first week. The runs felt great, but was still worried...
The Star Wars circle has been complete. I first saw Star Wars for my 8th birthday (I think) and have followed ever since. I am now complete. I knew love would be the reason for Anakin's turn as soon as he fell for Amidala in I. So, why is the light side associated with no love while it takes the dark side to embrace the passion? Why did the Jedi have to torture a man's natural needs by restricting his own emotions? Embrace elements of both sides and use the powers from each. Whatever. One final down, 3 to go. XBox 360 coming out Holiday season. Gonna be absolutely incredible machine with computing power more than my present computer. Will replace the DVD player, be a photo viewer, music box, gaming, online marketplace, and a lot more. The games are going to look and do look incredible. E305 really showed some great stuff. PS3 is looking excellent too but I'm an XBox player now after enjoying the great online play and community. Women produce anywhere form 75-90 percent of t...
