What a Weekend

Wow. Left Friday after the kids got home. I spent the day getting packed for camping and making a batch of cookies for Ang. Got up there about 5 and Ang was still working so we drove to Juanita Lake and reserved a spot. Its about 8 miles from her station. She ended up getting off at 6.

Talk about exhausted! She looked totaled but in great spirits. She and the hotshots spent the day planting around 1800 trees on mountains steeper than Ang has ever been on. She's really working her ass off and again thanks everyone who helped with her boots cus the good boots are really paying off in this terrain. Today (Sunday) they spent the morning hiking 'The Rock" which sounded like some torture regimen the way she was describing it!

Anyway, back to the trip. We gobbled Ang and headed for our campsite, where Sam and I had already set up the tent. At about 6,000 feet it was still pretty cold and we had a great fire going with wood I brought. I made pork and beans with cocktail sausages thrown in; it was great. Ang got to relax and we all got to spend some great time together.

Unfortunately we were short one sleeping bag (I thought Ang could use her fire bag but its packed) we tried to share and cuddle but the cold wasn't going to let it rest. I was freezing and suffering from a horrible all-day allergy attack on my whole system. I wrapped in a blanket, clothes, everything, until finally heading for the Xterra around 200 am (We went to bed around 1130) By this time I was really tired and tried to sleep in the car but was still too cold. Anyway, I got about 2 hours sleep, packed up camp, drove 30 minutes to Dorris for some more groceries for Ang, brought her back to the station, drove home (hour) and was spent.

Needless to say, I slept probably 12 hours and woke to a shivering temperature of 102.5 (I finally decided to take my temperature after going through hot/cold flashes all night) So I took some tylenol, wrapped up in sheets, and went through about 2 huge drenching sweats. That must of done it!

I got up after my second sweat at about 830 this morning. I couldn't get anymore sick, and with my usual nurse gone, decided to strike it head on. I ended up doing 4 loads of laundry, 2 loads of dishes, washed the car inside and out, went to the store for milk, took one geology test, studied for another final, cleaned kitchen, vacuumed, and now am winding down my babbling my misadventures. Kids helped with their chores: rooms, clothes, animals. They've been great. If you got this far, I'm impressed.

Crazy week coming up. Finals week!! Should be all done with finals by Wednesday. Ang gets off for a few on Wednesday so I'll be picking her up and bringing her back home for a few days. Can't wait. Bye, its late.
